Pizza places in the United States run from a counter with two stools and a stack of boxes to a full sit-down pizzeria with a bar, and most neighborhood shops do all three things at once: dine-in, takeout and delivery. Ordering by phone is still common and often faster than an app, and many independents charge less when you call direct because there is no platform fee. Sizes are usually listed in inches (a small around 10", a large 14", an extra-large 16" or more), and a large feeds two to three adults. Slices are sold from a display case at New York-style counters and reheated to order; whole pies take 15-25 minutes at a busy shop. Most spots take cards and mobile pay, though a few older pizzerias remain cash-only, so check the door or the listing before you order.
Hours are published for 2 days a week. The most common schedule is 12โ10 PM. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Milkflower at (718) 204-1300; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. More information is available on its website, milkflowernyc.com.
On Google it holds a rating of 4.6 out of 5 from 1,208 reviews, which is a strong result for a pizza restaurant in Astoria and suggests consistent service.
Astoria is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Astoria is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Itโs a genuine local gem. I highly recommend trying the clam pizza which is Wu tang clam. You can enjoy it at a great price by taking advantage of the lunch special. The taste of the Squid ink pasta was also satisfying.

๐ MILKFLOWER: I CAME FOR PIZZAโฆ THEN HAD TO COME BACK FOR MORE. ๐๐ฅ Saturday night in Astoria, I pulled up to Milkflower thinking I was just grabbing dinner. Rookie mistake. This place had other plans. Started with the wood-roasted octopus ๐ โ russet potatoes, shallots, Kalamata olives & dill. Packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. Then came the roasted meatballs with tomato sauce, garlic bread, Parmesan & basil. Classic comfort food, but that wood-fired flavor gave it a serious upgrade. ๐ช Then came the Local 82 ๐ โ tomato, sausage, speck, spicy soppressata, garlic & jalapeรฑo. Bold, spicy, smokyโฆ basically everything I want on a pizza. And the staff? Fantastic. They actually took the time to explain every dish, which made the whole experience even better. Now hereโs where things got ridiculousโฆ I came back THE NEXT DAY. ๐ Why? Because Saturday night, I watched everybody around me ordering the Stun Dunn and talking about how incredible it was. So naturally, I had to investigate. ๐ต๏ธโโ๏ธ๐ Caramelized onion, Gruyรจre, scallion, red onion & mozzarella. They werenโt exaggerating. OUT. OF. THIS. WORLD. ๐คฏ๐ฅ Smart conclusion: When an entire room of strangers recommends the same pi

The worst restaurant service I have ever experienced in Astoria. We just visited on Wednesday, June 17th, around 7:30 p.m., excited to try this neighborhood restaurant. We live only a couple of blocks away and were looking forward to becoming regular customers. We arrived with our small, well-trained service dog who accompanies us throughout New York City and everywhere else, and have never encountered any issues elsewhere. Unfortunately, our experience with the young blonde hostess working that evening was extremely upsetting. She raised her voice and demanded documentation for our service dog. When we explained that we did not have any paperwork with us at that moment, she continued insisting and pointed to a sign on the door, although the sign itself does not state that documentation is required. She is clearly not aware of the law which we tried to warn her about, since a restaurant not following the law, I imagine is exposing themselves to face repercussions. What was most disappointing was: not even being asked the questions they are supposed to legally ask and the way we were treated. We left feeling embarrassed, discriminated against, and deeply saddened. As local reside

Such a cute pizza spot! The stunn Dunn pizza was really good as well as the wood roasted zucchini and eggplant. Nice atmosphere, good service! We did a walk in.

Hidden gem in Astoria, NY. Walked in on a Friday night and seated immediately. Rustic vibes, felt like you were in a cabin of sorts, cool art and taxidermy on the walls. For starters we ordered the ricotta cheese with fig and honey served with a warm fruit & nut bread as well as some oven roasted vegetables (eggplant and zucchini). Both were awesome, I liked the veggies more - they were served over a bed of crรจme fresh & this lemon dressing. For pizza, we ordered the Queen (margherita) and the Stun Dunn (caramelized onions, scallions, gruyere cheese). Both were wood-fired and cooked to perfection. Wood fired pizza > any other style in my opinion. To close out our meal we ordered a Basque cheesecake topped with a blueberry compote and it was a 10/10 dessert ๐ฎโ๐จ Overall: 8/10
